Vermont spring had arrived in all its glory in Danby. I was driving along one of the many unpaved roads past sagging barns, under dramatic skies and through a short-lived snow squall or two. With my camera ever by my side, I slowed my car to observe some horses in a muddy field. One of them puposefully started walking toward me. We locked eyes. I started snapping photographs.
