Because art speaks to us emotionally, intellectually, and viscerally, we react according to who we are at that moment. It taps into something within.
A poet expresses it with words. A photographer uses images. A sculptor seizes form. Each brings a different joy, bewilderment, and wonder. It is non-verbal. I want to say more, but writing about sculpture is like dancing to architecture. Really hard to do.
I collect found objects that beckon me with their color, texture and shape. I assemble and shape them in the relationship that alllows them to speak to each other and to me. That dialogue continues whether the art is abstract, kinetic, mechanical, steampunk, or whimsical outdoor sculpture.
I hold an undergraduate degree in English education and humanities and a graduate degree in fine arts.
