Kathleen Kennedy is an active artisan, craftsperson and entrepreneur with "design" as her specialty. She was an art major in college and has worked in many different mediums. Kathleen's primary focus now is in textiles, creating high quality custom tote bags, handbags, laptop cases, cellphone cases, and more. Her business name is "Vermont Brag Bags."
She considers herself to be more of an artist/designer than a seamstress. Everything she creates is her own unique design, never using a generic pattern. The real joy is working with all the textures, colors, proportions, and patterns to create beautiful, useful, funtional art. Combining gorgeous and distinctive, unusual and vintage fabrics, gives these bags their own special signature. You will find "Vermont Brag Bags" in a number of locations as well as in crafts fairs around the area.
She received an Art Education degree at the State University of New York at New Paltz and taught art in several Vermont elementary schools for a short while. She quickly discovered that her love was not in teaching but in actively pursuing her own expressions. She has had active businesses in many creative areas such as handmade silver jewelry, landscape and perennial garden design, software and product design, and authoring several books. She has enjoyed living in such an inspiring place as Vermont for many years.
